Water colour on paper.
Here Anna returns to one of her favourite settings and themes, nature, with evidence of human occupation, and yet no people in view. Again the viewer of the painting is invited to put herself into the painting from the same vantage point of the artist. Again, technically, Anna is able to render architecture easily, through a few simple strokes of her brush.
In Anna’s words:
“I guess it was my year for barns. I don’t know why, exactly, but I feel myself drawn to these abandoned structures. I can’t really explain it, except to say I find it so very peaceful. All things like this that I am able to do make me feel that I am at peace. That’s an important part of my process.”
