Town Hall Celldomolk, Hungary
Water colour on paper.
This is the town hall of the town that Anna grew up in, in Hungary. Once again we see many of Anna’s themes at play: attention to architectural detail, the coexistence of man made structures and nature, the absence of people from the picture. Certainly we feel a sense of nostalgia in this painting, a longing perhaps for a simpler time, politically and personally. As usual, her architectural rendering is second to none.
In Anna’s words: “I don’t use a ruler. I do it all free hand. Even though I don’t have any hands!”
